Səlis Danışıq: twenty years since its 2006 foundation

The foundation date

Səlis Danışıq is a speech and psychology centre in Baku. The centre began operating on 22 February 2006, as recorded in its bilingual review of the first ten years. The Russian archive used the name «Свободная речь», meaning “Free Speech”. In 2026 the centre marked twenty years since its establishment.

The early centre

Opened on 22 February. The review records two speech therapists and one psychologist, and training in Moscow. Seminars at the centre and team development. The review lists two speech therapists and two psychologists for that period.

Developing the setting

Psychologist training in Saint Petersburg, seminars in Azerbaijan and events with visiting international professionals. University educators invited to sessions, followed by a move to larger premises.

What twenty years means

This is the centre’s operating history as of 2026, not the personal experience of every employee. The archive heading “Ten years of work” refers to the 2006–2016 review.
