About Səlis Danışıq in Baku — established in 2006
Twenty years of attention to communication, development and families.
Səlis Danışıq is a speech and psychology centre in Baku. The centre began operating on 22 February 2006, as recorded in its bilingual review of the first ten years. The Russian archive used the name «Свободная речь», meaning “Free Speech”. In 2026 the centre marked twenty years since its establishment.
Centre leadership
The anniversary archive names Xavər Abdullayeva as the centre’s director. She represents the centre at professional and public education events. A 2022 interview also identifies her as its director and describes the centre as having operated for sixteen years at that time.
Our approach to support
Work with a family begins by understanding the child’s speech, communication, development and everyday activities. Session goals follow an individual assessment. Depending on the enquiry, families can discuss speech therapy, psychological support, special education, movement and daily living skills. The specific professional’s training and availability at the chosen location are confirmed when booking.
Training and professional development
The anniversary review describes training and seminars in Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Türkiye, as well as visits to Germany and Poland. Specific entries mention ABA programme training at TOHUM OTİZM VAKFI in 2008, the “The World of Autism” seminar in 2014 and an international symposium at Azerbaijan Medical University in 2015.
Recognition and public appearances
The archive mentions a commendation for the director in 2008, a “Defectologist of the Year” award initiated by the newspaper Sabaha İnamla in 2014 and a “Specialist of the Year” title in 2015. It also lists appearances on İctimai TV, Region TV, Xəzər TV, ATV and Lider, alongside public education meetings and professional seminars.
